FAQs

What is Halo “Salt” IR Therapy?

Never heard of this type of spa treatment? It is new to our area.

What do I wear to the spa?

WHAT DO I WEAR FOR THE INFRARED SAUNA, HALO IR BOOTH AND HAND/FOOT DETOX SESSION?

Spa robes and sandals are provided for your comfort. The Halo-IR Sauna booth is in a private room that only you will be in. Feel free to wear nothing in the booth. Loose or athletic clothing are also welcome.

If you like your robe and would like to keep it, they are available for sale at $50 each.

Please bring a towel with you to your appointment.

WHAT DO I WEAR IN THE HOT TUB? Swimsuits

Is it clean?

Spa amenities are disinfected throughout the day between guests. However, interacting with others in public places inherently carries the risk of exposure to communicable diseases. To that end, feel free to mask and wash your hands as often as you would like.

Is there any risk of catching germs or an infection?

Salt is an anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial, which naturally absorbs moisture & bacteria. Additionally, our salt room has UV sanitation system which kills up to 99.9% of bacteria and viruses and is used in between each session.

What will I experience?

The Infrared sauna experience is cumulative. It may take 10-20 min your first few sessions to break a sweat. This is because our IR Sauna is heating you from the inside out. The more your body gets use to this the quicker and more profusely you will sweat.

Bluetooth speaker connection in the booth are available for you to stream your own podcast, music or meditation. Feel free to bring your own reading materials as sauna sessions can last up to 45 min.

Afterwards, we encourage you to take your time naturally cooling down. We provide lemon water and herbal teas to rehydrate.

Is it private?

Yes. When you book the Halo IR, FAR Infrared Sauna, Hand/Foot Detox or the Hot Tub, you will have the amenity to yourself or with the person you bring with you.

The outdoor Hot Tub is privately situated near the house and with trees.

How many sessions do I need?

The number of sessions needed varies depending on each individual client and the reason for their visit. Some clients notice a difference after just a few sessions. For general overall wellbeing, respiratory and skin hygiene, it is recommended to visit 1-2 times a week. For chronic respiratory and skin conditions, it is recommended to visit frequently and consistently 3-7 times a week for a period of 14-21 days.

Is there anything to avoid or not do?

Phones are not permitted in the Halotherapy booth or the InfraRed therapy booth due to the risk of damage. There is bluetooth in the Halo IR booth. You can bring your phone and leave it outside of the booth and play relaxing music, ocean sounds or whatever you would like.

When should halotherapy be avoided? Are there any contradictions?

Halotherapy is a safe and effective wellness practice for preventive and restorative health care, but it is NOT a medical treatment. Anyone with health concerns need to speak to their healthcare professional before participating in halotherapy.

Halotherapy should not be undertaken if you are currently experiencing any of the following: active tuberculosis, acute stage of respiratory diseases, bleeding, cardiac insufficiency, chemotherapy, contagious conditions, copd in 3rd stage, fever, internal diseases in acute stage, intoxication, requires oxygen, severe kidney disease, severe/unstable heart disorder, spitting of blood and/or uncontrolled hypertension.

What about the concern that salt is bad for you?

Consuming too much salt is linked to high blood pressure. With salt therapy, you are inhaling a dry salt aerosol, which only enters your respiratory system, not your digestive tract. The salt particles are so fine that even if you were to eat that amount, it would not pose a risk to your health.

What is “CHROMOTHERAPY”?
